Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Deadlock Shop collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: this is a one-person reference site, not an ad business. It does not sell your data, it shows no ads, and it honors the Global Privacy Control signal your browser can send.

Information collected automatically

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the standard request data your browser sends when it loads a page: your IP address, the browser and operating system you are using, the page you requested, and the referring page. This is used to serve the site, keep it available, and protect it from abuse. It is a normal part of how the web works and is not tied to any advertising profile of you.

The Deadlock item icons and shop art are Valve's art, reproduced from the game files. They are served from this site, not from a third-party image host, so loading them sends nothing to anyone else.

Analytics

Deadlock Shop uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages get read and roughly how many people read them. Google Analytics sets cookies, such as _ga, so that repeat page loads from the same browser can be told apart and counted as one visitor rather than many. This is used only to measure traffic in aggregate. It is not used for advertising, for building a profile of you, or for tracking you across other sites.

Google Analytics respects the Global Privacy Control. If your browser or a browser extension sends the GPC signal, the analytics script is never loaded at all, so no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google from your visit.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit by installing Google's officialAnalytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Grow by Mediavine

Deadlock Shop also loads Grow by Mediavine, a script from faves.grow.me that measures site traffic so the site can be reviewed for Mediavine's ad program. It shows no ads. It may set cookies or use local storage in your browser, and it sends usage data and standard request information, such as your IP address and browser, to Mediavine, which processes it underMediavine's privacy policy. Like Google Analytics, it respects the Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends the GPC signal, Grow is never loaded. If the site ever starts showing ads, this policy will say so before they appear.

Cookies

The only cookies on this site are the Google Analytics cookies described above and any Grow sets, and only when those scripts are loaded. The main one, _ga, holds a random identifier used to distinguish one browser from another so visits can be counted. The site runs no ads. If the GPC signal is present, or if you clear or block cookies, these are not set.

Your choices and rights

Deadlock Shop does not sell your personal information, and it does not use it to profile you. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Because the only data involved is standard hosting logs and aggregate traffic measurement, these requests are usually straightforward to handle.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to opt out of the sharing of your personal information for advertising. This site shows no ads. The one script from an advertising company is Grow by Mediavine, which measures traffic for Mediavine's ad-program review. The site honors the Global Privacy Control automatically: a GPC signal from your browser is treated as a valid opt-out request, and neither Grow nor Google Analytics loads at all.
